About The Position

The Nursing Associate International Transition is a licensed international nurse awaiting their RN license who provides guided nursing care in conjunction with a licensed nurse to coordinate care delivery and education through collaboration with patient, family, and all health care team providers to ensure safe, effective, and quality patient care. Follows organization policies in providing safe patient care.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate
  • Associate Degree Nursing prior to start date OR Bachelor Degree Nursing prior to start date
  • Verification of successful completion of accredited nursing program prior to hire
  • Basic Life Support Heartsaver (BLS HS) (Non-Clinical) - American Heart Association (AHA) within 14 days

Nice To Haves

  • The individual may work in the Nursing Associate International Transition role after submitting application for licensure through the Kansas State Board of Nursing and prior to the time they begin in the Clinical Nurse Entry II role with our health system.
  • It is anticipated that individuals will work in this Nursing Associate International Transition role no longer than 45 calendar days after date of hire.
  • Individuals who do not obtain appropriate licensure (for whatever reason) within 45 calendar days from their hire date will be in breach of their Nursing Employment Agreement.

Responsibilities

  • Provides patient safety and reports conditions of risk; seeks appropriate assistance to perform patient care safely.
  • Uses resources efficiently and effectively in patient care.
  • Utilizes department/unit standards when performing tech duties.
  • Bases decisions, actions, and performance of all technical skills on standards of care and approved protocols and techniques.
  • Interacts with health team members to meet immediate and specific patient care needs.
  • Works under the direction of the RN/Charge Nurse and reports patient needs and outcomes.
  • Receives/relays all forms of communication accurately, promptly, courteously, and to the appropriate person/department.
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
