About The Position

The Nail Wood Assembly Worker is responsible for the precise construction, fastening, and structural integration of wooden components used in reel production. This role requires advanced use of pneumatic nail guns, measurement tools, and mechanical assembly methods to ensure accurate alignment and secure fastening of all materials. The position demands strong mechanical aptitude, spatial awareness, and the ability to interpret and follow detailed verbal and written instructions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Attention to detail.
  • For safety reasons, you must be 18 years or older to be considered.
  • Must be able to stand, bend, twist/squat, push, pull, reach during entire shift.
  • Must be able to work in hot/ cold warehouse environment.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive tasks while sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
  • This position requires constant standing, walking, bending, and moving back and for in the production line.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds, with reaching, pulling, pushing.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an industrial / manufacturing setting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Lone Star Reel standards, based on plant scheduling and operational needs.
  • Operate pneumatic nail guns and other fastening tools to assemble wood components with precision, ensuring proper nail depth, spacing, pressure, and material penetration.
  • Interpret measurements, layout requirements, and assembly specifications to ensure accurate placement and structural integrity of all parts.
  • Work collaboratively with other line members to coordinate multi-stage assembly processes and maintain consistent workflow.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area, ensuring tools and materials are properly stored and handled.
  • Inspect wood components for defects such as warping, splitting, improper cuts, or dimensional discrepancies; follow established procedures to correct, report, or remove defective materials.
  • Follow all company, departmental, and production protocols, maintaining compliance with OSHA regulations and internal safety programs.
  • Report emergencies, equipment malfunctions, or unusual situations immediately to supervision.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
  • Mastery of pneumatic nail gun operation, including loading, pressure adjustment, depth control, alignment techniques, and troubleshooting misfires.
  • Understanding of the complete nail-wood assembly and reel-building process, including structural layout, joint reinforcement, and sequencing of fastening points.
  • Assembly of precut boards and wood flanges using nailing patterns to optimize strength, alignment, and durability.
  • Performing in-process quality checks, verifying dimensional accuracy, nail placement consistency, and final product integrity.
  • Stacking, organizing, banding, or staging completed products in accordance with material-handling procedures.
  • Perform any other duties as requested by management.
