About The Position

We are seeking highly motivated consultants across North America to join our Advisory team. As an Assistant Consultant, you will work alongside experts across multiple transportation modes, contributing directly to high-value projects for public and private sector clients. From the outset, you will take part in project teams tackling complex analytical and strategic challenges in transportation and infrastructure. This role is ideal for individuals who want to make an immediate meaningful impact early in their careers and take ownership of their work while developing the skills required to become a successful consultant. Requirements

  • A recent bachelor’s degree with a strong analytical component. Degrees in STEM, transportation, planning, economics, or related disciplines are particularly relevant. A master’s degree in a related subject is an asset.

Nice To Haves

  • A master’s degree in a related subject is an asset.
  • Experience with tools such as ArcGIS, Cube, TransCAD, EMME, R, Python, or Stata is beneficial but not required
  • Familiarity with Tidyverse or Pandas is considered beneficial
  • Transportation-related work or research experience is also an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Participate on multidisciplinary teams to address complex transportation challenges and deliver meaningful outcomes for clients with real world impact.
  • Supporting major rail transit projects by analysing ridership growth through EMME network modelling;
  • Collaborating with transportation planners at public transit agencies to understand how major rail investments will affect regional mobility;
  • Supporting advisory work for major toll road projects in the United States;
  • Developing master plans for new bus rapid transit systems, including operations and maintenance cost modelling;
  • Conducting ridership forecasting for major rail and transit projects in North America and globally;
  • Supporting business cases for major transportation infrastructure investments in large metropolitan regions;
  • Developing cost models for major rail and transit projects;
  • Supporting operations and maintenance cost modelling and budget planning for public, private, and P3 infrastructure projects;
  • Supporting proposal development and business development efforts for high-impact projects;
  • Contributing to wider North American and global Steer initiatives
