About The Position
This position is for a Mutuels Teller in the horse race betting industry. The role involves handling pari-mutuel betting, which is the most common form of horse race betting. Candidates should be quick with numbers and possess strong organizational and customer service skills. No prior experience is required as training will be provided.
Requirements
- Requires cash handling experience
- Ability to learn, understand, and maintain the operation of the betting terminal
- Must have an outgoing, energetic, and enthusiastic attitude that encourages our guests to make a return visit
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Maintain confidentiality
- Respond calmly to stressful situations
- Ability and willingness to work weekends, holidays, and varied hours
- Must be able to commit to select racing dates
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in, or knowledge of, horse racing is helpful
Responsibilities
- Accurately and efficiently selling wagers on live Prairie Meadows races and other tracks across the country
- Maintain and balance a cash drawer
- Checking guest IDs before placing bets
- Cashing winning vouchers
- Maintaining cleanliness of window areas and guest lines
