The Permanent/Intermittent Muslim Chaplain will be directed by the Program Director in the Recovery and Mall Services (RMS) Department. The incumbent will be responsible for consulting with the hospital Clinical, Administrative, and RMS staff regarding religious dietary requests, reviewing and approving vendors, and providing education. The role includes conducting quality Islamic religious ceremonies, services, and groups, providing spiritual counseling, visitation, and teaching to patients unable to attend activities off the unit as scheduled, and working cooperatively with other Chaplains to provide spiritual services and groups. Administrative duties will also be performed, following policies and procedures necessary to safely provide spiritual services. The Chaplain will direct the provision of regularly scheduled Muslim services and ceremonies, participate in scheduled RMS meetings, Interfaith meetings, and training, and effectively communicate with supervisors, the Interfaith Team, and Treatment Teams. Additionally, the Chaplain will support the hospital's Relationship Security Program.
