About The Position

SeaWorld San Antonio is seeking outgoing and enthusiastic Musicians, Dancers, Actors, and Costumed Characters for the Summer season! Date: Saturday, February 28, 2026 Location: SeaWorld Human Resources Sign-in begins at 10:30am Auditions begin promptly at 10:45am You must be at least 16 years of age and have a parental consent form signed before you can audition. The form is attached to this application and we will have copies of the form available at the audition. Audition information varies based on the type of performer. For example: Musicians (Percussion & Brass) - Come prepared with 32 bars that show off your technique and skill set and 32 bars of a pop or up-tempo selection. You may be asked to participate in a movement exercise Dancers - Come dressed comfortable to groove and show us your best moves to taught choreography Actors - Come prepared with a 90 second, family-friendly, comedic monologue and be prepared to read a given side Costumed Characters - Heights from 4'10 -6'. Come prepared to participate in movement exercises and ice-breaker style games What you get to do: Performs show/act in assigned area according to show schedules. Performs daily warm-up on individual basis to insure performance without injury. Develops skills/knowledge to maintain excellent quality show/appearance. Follows through on show notes to insure progress in specific areas. Maintain personal appearance by meeting costume and make-up requirements. Assist in general cleaning of specified areas. Assist in the daily operational aspects of assigned show, reporting prop/costume repairs in a timely manner. Works with cast/crew and management to maintain the integrity of the show. Consistently demonstrates courteous and professional behavior in all work aspects with all team members and guests. Works as part of a team to increase productivity and while providing excellent guest service. Maintains a professional appearance that meets grooming standards What it takes to succeed: Must be at least 16 years old High school diploma, GED, or be in the process of obtaining one. Must demonstrate ability to perform in casted role during the try-out process. Must be able to work outdoors during evening hours. Must be available for all rehearsal and performance dates. Previous performance in community/school extra-curricular activities. Communication and public relations skills. Must be able to multitask while maintaining a positive attitude to ensure excellent guest service. Provide excellent service to guests and team members. Must be able to stand, walk, and work for prolonged periods of time in extreme weather conditions. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to include weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays. Consistently practices safe work habits including but not limited to the use of personal protective equipment, lifting and reporting of unsafe situations. Must be willing to comply with and ensure team members comply with all SEA grooming guidelines and employment standards. Must be able to successfully complete all legal, company and department training requirements to include but not limited to passing required tests and certifications within established timelines. Share the joy of entertaining children and other guests as a costumed character by greeting guests, shaking hands, posing for pictures, and giving hugs. Costumed character performers also act as a character escort to assist with guest interactions. Dancers - Demonstrate technical proficiency in a variety of styles including jazz, musical theatre, ballet, and modern. Partnering skills, break dancing, tumbling, tap, or other specialties are a plus. Dancers perform in multiple high-energy shows per day to connect with our guests and create memories that last a lifetime. Event Performers - Bring our special and seasonal events to life such as Event Host, Culinary Performers and Santa's Helpers. Instrumentalists - Proficient in percussion, brass, woodwinds or guitar. All instrumentalists should have the ability to play varying styles ranging from pop/rock to Motown to gospel and must be able to memorize music for shows and perform with great stage presence. Scare Squad - Enthusiastic performers, who are passionate about Halloween, to add fun and scary excitement to our award-winning Howl-O-Scream events. Vocalists - Great energy and stage presence who can demonstrate technical proficiency in a variety of styles including pop, rock, musical theatre, classical, contemporary, and a cappella vocal styling. Capacity to hear/sing harmonies is a must. Sight reading skills are not required but are preferred. Vocalists perform in multiple high-energy shows per day to connect with our guests and create memories that last a lifetime. How should I prepare for my audition? You will be asked to learn a dance combination and participate in improve and athletic stamina exercises. Costumed character auditions are based primarily on movement, non-verbal communication, and physical coordination. Please arrive early enough to stretch and warm up before the audition begins. Please wear form fitting dance attire that allows a full range of movement and tennis or jazz shoes. Please do not wear jeans.
