About The Position

The Musical Theatre/Art Teacher at The Monarch Institute is responsible for fostering student growth through fine arts, music, dance, and theater experiences. This role emphasizes the development of students' self-regulation, executive functioning, and relational skills, while implementing the Monarch Integrated Methodology. The teacher will create lesson plans, teach various performing arts techniques, and guide students during performances, all while supporting the therapeutic agenda of the school.

Requirements

• Texas Certified Musical Theatre/Art Teacher preferred.
• Ability to apply TEKS to create lesson plans.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to instruct students and collaborate with colleagues.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in directing and organizing theater productions.
• Knowledge of the history and concepts of different art forms.

Responsibilities

• Support student growth through fine arts, music, dance, and theater experiences.
• Implement The Monarch School model of teaching with emphasis on self-regulation and executive functioning.
• Create lesson plans that apply TEKS for teaching dance, theater, and choir.
• Teach theater techniques, direct productions, and assess student progress.
• Foster creative abilities and instill an appreciation for the arts.
• Guide students during performances and teach performance elements.
• Collaborate with Program Directors and staff for annual events and student schedules.
• Report student progress in designated formats at specific intervals.
• Attend all faculty meetings and in-services as directed.
