Music Therapist
About The Position
Responsible for addressing the holistic needs of patients, families, and staff through music therapy interventions. This position uses music to address physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual needs of individuals of all ages. Additionally, this role conducts music therapy assessments and administers therapy to improve abilities for independent function, behavioral management, social skills, symptom management, and activities of daily living. In addition, this position offers individual and group sessions to provide safe and proper services. Additionally, this role provides mentorship and supervision for Music Therapy interns. This position contributes to the overall mission by fostering a sense of trust, belonging, and hope within the healthcare team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- 1 experience as an music therapist in a medical setting.
- Board Certified Music Therapist (CBMT)
Nice To Haves
- Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) -PREFERRED
Responsibilities
- Maintains the safe and efficient operation of the center by monitoring equipment safety.
- Performs administrative duties, identifies needs and opportunities, and makes recommendations for change to the manager.
- Conducts assessments and administers music therapy to patients of all ages. Leads individual and group music therapy sessions.
- Communicates effectively with patients, families, and staff. Participates in team and professional meetings, providing input on patient, family, and staff needs.
