About The Position

ViaQuest Community Solutions (VCS) supports individuals of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injury and Autism Spectrum Disorders. VCS is widely known throughout Indiana for exceptional outcomes with individuals who present with unique and complex issues, particularly individuals with co-occurring mental health and behavioral challenges. We are expanding our Music Therapy Team and seeking experienced, Board-Certified Music Therapists to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are hiring for home based music therapy positions. Requirements

• Minimum of bachelor's degree in music therapy (MT-BC).
• Valid (Indiana) driver’s license
• Auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Must be: Self-motivated
• Detail oriented with exceptional follow through
• Organized, efficient, and strong time management skills
• Highly professional, dependable, reliable

Nice To Haves

• Experience with the Medicaid Waiver, Neurologic Music Therapy and in the field of Disability Support is highly valued.
• 2 years of music therapy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with all members of the individuals’ service team to ensure great communication and customer service is in place.
• Subscribe to a clinical strengths-based approach
• Be invested in the team process and demonstrate strong clinical skills and interpersonal communication skills.
• Uses Music therapy supports to aid in the development and growth in the following areas: social skills, communication, motor skills, emotional expression, coping skills, attention span, cognitive skills, and other identified need areas.
• Uses music therapy to stimulate and develop attention to be a significant support for those with more complex needs.
• Uses music to influence connectivity in multiple parts of the brain to elicit changes in brain function, improving communication between the brain and body.
• Uses dedicated therapy treatments to regulate intentional motor movement patterns that consequently improves communication, body awareness and control, motivating changes in other areas of the person’s life.
