About The Position

The Music Therapist is responsible for developing and implementing a therapy program designed to meet student needs. The program is provided in multiple locations.

Requirements

• Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy
• Possession of (or eligible for) a Certification as a Music Therapist by the Certification Board For Music Therapists, Inc. at time of appointment

Responsibilities

• Prepare, implement, and evaluate Individual Education Plans for students related to music therapy interventions
• Maintain all necessary and appropriate records
• Communicate with administrators, teachers, parents and students regarding progress/status of music therapy intervention
• Participate in parent meetings, and annual review meetings as needed
• Provide training activities as requested
• Assist classroom staff in developing instructional techniques in music therapy
• Take direction and perform tasks/duties by PPS Director
