About The Position

We are seeking a passionate and creative Music Teacher to design and deliver individualized music instruction for students within the framework of Daily Life Therapy® . This role blends music education, therapeutic practice, and collaboration to support student development in a dynamic, mission-driven school environment. As a Music Teacher, you will play a vital role in helping students build confidence, self-expression, and independence through meaningful musical experiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education or a related field
  • Strong initiative, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, collaborative environment
  • Physical ability to engage in an active school day, including standing, lifting, squatting, and jogging

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement individualized music curricula aligned with Daily Life Therapy® principles
  • Deliver engaging music instruction as a core component of each student’s educational program
  • Maintain familiarity with the full school curriculum to support classroom coverage when needed
  • Prepare and present quarterly music progress reports to the Master Teacher
  • Develop educational documentation including assessments, IEP goals, and progress reports
  • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate closely with teachers, specialists, and administrators
  • Attend daily division meetings, teacher meetings, and in-service trainings
  • Coordinate student participation in Massachusetts Very Special Arts programs and other community activities
  • Create a safe, organized, and stimulating learning environment that reflects student involvement and creativity
  • Actively participate in all student activities, including physical exercise and movement-based programming
  • Maintain open, respectful, and confidential communication with parents and caregivers
  • Respond promptly and professionally to parent inquiries in accordance with school procedures
  • Contribute as a collaborative team member and support school-wide initiatives and events
  • Serve on the Event Committee to help plan and coordinate school activities
  • Support classroom teachers with Daily Life Therapy activities as needed throughout the day
  • Adhere to all school policies, student rights, and applicable regulations
  • Order and manage music materials and supplies as needed
  • Continue professional growth through ongoing study of Daily Life Therapy® and current music education practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Master Teacher, Division Directors, or Director of Programming
