About The Position

St. Louis Catholic School, located in Alexandria, VA is seeking a full time music teacher for 2026-2027 school year. Ideal candidates should be passionate about music, faith, and inspiring young hearts. We are seeking a dedicated and joyful Music Teacher to serve students in K-8 at our vibrant Catholic school community. Position Overview The K–8 Music Teacher fosters a love of music while supporting the spiritual, academic, and personal growth of each student. This role includes general music instruction, liturgical music preparation, and opportunities to lead school performances that celebrate both faith and creativity.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or related field (Master’s preferred)
• Teaching certification (or ability to obtain)
• Experience teaching elementary and/or middle school students
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• A commitment to the mission of Catholic education

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with Catholic liturgy and sacred music (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate music instruction for grades K–8
• Teach fundamentals such as rhythm, melody, vocal technique, and music appreciation
• Prepare students for school liturgies, concerts, and special events
• Integrate Catholic values and traditions into music instruction
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to support school-wide initiatives and celebrations
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and creativity
