About The Position

The Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic School teacher must plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program in an elementary or secondary learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.

Responsibilities

Model the teachings of the Catholic Church always – All faculty and Staff members are Catechist of the Catholic Faith
Follow, adhere, and support the policies of the MBS Parent/Student Handbook, MBS Faculty Handbook, MBS Policy Manual and The Diocesan Administrative Manual
Report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
Maintain confidentiality
Dress modestly and appropriately
Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning in grade level or area of teaching
Ensure classroom management and procedures by establishing rules and policies
Create lesson plans aligned with learning standards and objectives and submit them in a timely manner
Monitor students in accordance with established procedures, in and out of the classroom
Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction
Maintain discipline in accordance with the school handbook
Monitor and assess student progress and provide student appropriate feedback on work.
Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development and record them in a timely manner.
Prepare required reports on students and activities.
Participate in all required meetings
Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs
Prepare classroom for class activities by providing a variety of learning materials and resources
Maintain an orderly classroom
Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, and assignments
Demonstrate the ability to work with students from diverse cultural, economic and ability backgrounds
Provide student accommodations as required
Encourage parent and community involvement
Provide information to parents when requested
Promptly return phone calls and answer emails
Participate in extracurricular activities such as student social activities, sporting activities, clubs, and student organizations
Maintain teacher certification
Participate in professional development and professional activities
Complete MAT I and MAT II Classes
Perform all other duties as necessary and/or requested
Assist with Liturgy Planning
Conduct and Prepare Weekly Student Choir and Performance Choir
