About The Position

The Music Instructor at School of Rock is responsible for delivering high-quality music education through private lessons and rehearsals. This part-time role emphasizes performance-based learning, ensuring students not only learn music fundamentals but also develop life skills. The instructor will create engaging lesson plans and maintain strong communication with students and their parents to foster a supportive learning environment.

Requirements

• 2+ years experience teaching and/or performing music professionally.
• Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design.
• Strong customer relations skills.
• Excellent ability to deal well with a wide range of customers.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Resourceful; good problem-solver.
• Works well under pressure.
• Enthusiastic, flexible, patient, and positive demeanor.
• Passion for teaching.

Nice To Haves

• 1 year of teaching experience (Preferred)
• Ability to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Maximize the quality of music instruction through private lessons and show rehearsals.
• Ensure students are learning the fundamentals of music, not just songs, using the School of Rock Method™.
• Create and document thoughtful lesson plans using our patented teaching Method, Books and Method App.
• Communicate with parents on the progress of students by creating quality lesson notes and assignments in the School of Rock Method App for at-home practice.
• Interact with parents and students regularly by being visible and accessible while at the school.
• Pitch in during canceled lessons in the overall execution of the program.
• Assist in rehearsals and with the upkeep of lesson facilities.
