The Antioch Unified School District is a unified school district serving over 16,150 students in grades K-12. The district comprises thirteen elementary schools, four middle schools, two comprehensive high schools, three specialized high schools, two alternative high schools, and one K-8 school. Additionally, the district offers a home schooling program, adult education courses, and other unique programs tailored to meet the diverse needs of all students. The district employs approximately 1,100 certificated and nearly 900 classified employees. Located in the East Bay, Antioch provides easy access to scenic mountains, waterfronts, wine country, historical sites, and the Pacific Ocean. Known as the "Gateway to the Delta," Antioch is one of California's oldest cities, boasting a diverse community of around 100,000 residents. The Antioch Unified School District operates as a Merit System District, meaning that the final selection of classified staff members will be made from candidates who have been placed on an eligibility list, determined through an evaluation and competitive screening of candidates' training and experience as demonstrated in their applications and supplemental responses.
