About The Position

Third Street seeks a full-time Interim Program Manager to provide maternity leave coverage for our School & Community Partnership Programming during the fall of 2026. The Program Manager will work directly with the Director of Third Street Partners and collaborate with other staff as needed. They will serve as a vital member of the Third Street Partners administrative team, working to support faculty, and ensure timely communication and coordination among Third Street’s Partner Schools and Faculty. Duties will include supervising 10+ teaching artists, site visits, instrument delivery, and liaising with school staff, as well as on-site administration. This is a hybrid Monday through Friday role with a requirement of Tuesdays on-site. Additional days on-site may be required based on assigned needs and projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in music education or arts administration
  • 2+ years’ experience teaching in large group settings, public schools, or community music schools
  • Strong in each of the following competencies: Integrity Flexibility Commitment Communication Organization

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the partnerships, faculty and programming in specific partner sites
  • Working with site leaders to advocate and monitor working conditions and quality instruction
  • Traveling to partner sites across all five boroughs for regular visits, performances, and delivery of instructional supplies
  • Assisting Director with hiring, retention, and supervision of faculty
  • Determining teaching and concert schedules for faculty with assigned sites
  • Observing classes, and maintaining documentation on partnership activity
  • Helping plan, schedule and prepare for professional development of faculty
  • Ensuring that instruments, music and supplies are available for partner sites
  • Coordinating school performances and family engagement events
  • Encourage Partner student participation in Music and Dance School activities
  • Maintaining and disseminating program statistics
  • Attending regular meetings as requested by the Director
  • Performing any other department or organization-related duties or special projects as directed by supervisor
