Music Educational Representative - Monroe, CT
About The Position
Ensemble Schools is seeking a passionate music ed rep to work with local school districts and enhance their music programs on a part-time basis (with potential for growth) for Creative Music Center in Monroe, CT, named a NAMM Top 100 Dealer, 15 years running. This staff member will serve as the account manager and primary point of contact for local band, orchestra, and music directors in Fairfield County, CT. The desired hours for this position are 25-30 hours per week, approximately between 10 a.m.–6 p.m., with occasional weekend flexibility for seasonal recruitment opportunities. About Ensemble Schools Ensemble Schools is a collaborative network of community-driven Music & Dance schools. While each school maintains its unique identity, they share resources to ensure collective success. This posting is for Creative Music in Monroe, CT, servicing schools in and around Fairfield County. Founded in 1982, Creative Music specializes in beginners of all ages, including seniors, with over 225 students taught every week. We also teach students with advanced abilities. Requirements
- An organized, motivated self-starter with a strong customer service and sales mindset.
- A background in Instrumental Music Education and knowledge of the function and pedagogy of multiple instruments, as well as experience playing multiple instruments, are a must.
Nice To Haves
- A background in sales, recruitment, and/or administration is strongly desired but not required.
Responsibilities
- Outreach to local band and orchestra programs in schools, community arts organizations, and non-profit organizations
- Weekly visits to local school districts
- Fostering and retaining relationships with the musical community in Fairfield County, CT and surrounding areas
- Community outreach in the form of “instrument try-out” and “instrument petting-zoo” events and other outreach opportunities to recruit student interest
- Instrument inventory management, accounting for the instrument rental program and generating proposals and quotes for schools as needed with appropriate follow-up and delivery
- Managing the success of the school music program at Creative Music Center
