The Department of Music at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for an ongoing pool of lecturers who may be called upon to teach courses at the lower- and upper-division course levels. On the lower-division side, we seek applications from outstanding candidates with relevant teaching experience who can teach survey large lecture courses in the MUSC 11-series, and topical large lecture courses in the MUSC 80- & MUSC 81-series. On the upper-division side, we seek applications from outstanding candidates with relevant teaching experience who can teach various ethno/musicology courses, which includes the foundational History/Culture courses in the MUSC 101-series (which covers Western music history, as well as other cultural & regional musics from around the world), and topical history courses in the MUSC 105-series. Applicants with expertise in college-level teaching and who can contribute to the inclusive pedagogies and excellence of the Music Department's undergraduate and graduate programs (Music Ph.D., D.M.A, and M.A.) are strongly encouraged to apply. Internal candidates will be given priority consideration.
