About The Position

The Music Teacher at Calvin Christian School plays a vital role in nurturing students’ musical growth while integrating faith, creativity, and academic excellence. This educator partners with families and school leadership to cultivate a love of music and worship, helping students develop musical skills, confidence, and an appreciation for the arts through a Christ-centered lens. The Music Teacher actively supports the mission, vision, and philosophy of Calvin Christian School and contributes to a learning environment where students are equipped academically, spiritually, and artistically, grounded in a robust biblical worldview. This position includes teaching PK-5th grade general music, 6th-8th grade choir, and a 3rd-5th grade elective after school chorus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Must have and profess a personal and mature commitment to faith in Jesus Christ and affirm the school’s statement of faith/basis of instruction and mission statement.
  • Must believe, without reservation, and actively support the school’s Statement of Faith, Foundational Beliefs, and mission statement; possess a strong, clear Christian testimony; demonstrate a mature, godly spirit as a person of faith and prayer.
  • Sit and stand for long periods of time.
  • Speak clearly so listeners can understand.
  • Must be able to work in a demanding work environment.
  • The employee is regularly required to sit, walk, talk, read, see and hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers to type, handle, or feel and reach.
  • The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

  • This position is salary based with limited benefits based on contract percentage and commensurate with experience (403b and Self Care Time).
