About The Position

This position is a part-time stipend position at the Church of St. Patrick.
Under the supervision of the Music Director, the Music Assistant will assist,
coordinate and lead the music ministry for the children and youth of the
parish.

Requirements

• Music Education experience preferred.
• A passion for music and its place in the spiritual formation of young people
• Ability to work collegially with children, parents and church staff
• Organizational and time management skills to ensure consistent and enjoyable children’s involvement in the parish
• Experience with liturgical music in a parish setting
• Must have Basic computer skills
• Personal maturity and flexibility, and a grounded and growing faith.

Responsibilities

• Assists and collaborates with the Music Director to provide meaningful music and worship opportunities for the children and youth of the parish, including but not limited to youth Masses, children’s choir, summer camp, youth group, Adoration.
• Provides inspiration and leadership for the children and youth of the parish through choir and other special activities involving music.
• Coordinates use of materials, music equipment and facilities with other staff members.
• Communicates and collaborates with others in the parish Music Ministry.
• Plans and leads rehearsals with cantors, choirs, and musicians to prepare for all liturgies and non-liturgical concerts/performances.
• Performs other duties as directed by the Music Director.
