Responsibilities
- Assist with the handling, packing, and moving of museum objects under the guidance of senior staff.
- Learn and apply museum best practices for object care and handling.
- Assist with the inventory and documentation of collections, including data entry and photography.
- Perform basic cleaning and maintenance of artifacts and exhibit spaces.
- Prepare objects for exhibition, storage, and loan, including labeling and mounting.
- Assist with the installation and deinstallation of exhibitions.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Support the Collections team with various projects as needed.
- Adhere to all museum safety and security protocols.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., museum studies, art history, history, anthropology) preferred.
- Familiarity with Museum Collections Management Systems is preferred, but not required.
- Strong interest in museums and cultural heritage.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, communication, and ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to lift and carry objects of various weights.
- Basic computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Basic photography skills a plus.
Nice-to-haves
- Ability to safely operate 26-ft box truck, at minimum.
- Valid driver's license.
- Clean/Clear driving record with ability to pass all driving check.
- CDL license not required but preferred.

- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
- Location: Nashville, TN.
