About The Position

The Museum Archivist at Harley-Davidson will play a crucial role in preserving and making accessible the rich history of the Harley-Davidson brand through its archival collections. This position involves implementing archival procedures, facilitating the storage and retrieval of materials, and serving as a point of contact for historical information requests, all while enhancing the visitor experience at the H-D Museum.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
• Bachelor's Degree Preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of related experience
• Proficiency with databases, digitization, electronic records, websites, or social media
• Strong research and writing skills
• Knowledge of archival preservation techniques for both two-dimensional and three-dimensional artifacts
• Ability to work both independently and on a team.

Responsibilities

• Aid in filling service requests to the H-D Archives.
• Aid in accessing, cataloging, and photographing items acquired by the H-D Archives.
• Lead tours of the H-D Museum and Archives, presenting H-D history to employees.
• Support General Merchandise and other products in development by reviewing them for visual and historical accuracy.
• Guide or support initiatives to preserve paper, artifact and digital collection items and convert print and photographic formats to digital.
• Assist with collections/exhibit content for social media.
• Assist with the proper preservation, care, and movement of H-D Archives historic vehicle collection.
