About The Position

The Department of Radiology offers a unique opportunity for a Musculoskeletal Imaging and Interventional Radiologist, interested in pursuing an academic career, to support the MSK Section at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, School of Medicine and Public Health. Full-time is preferred but consideration may be given for an appointment at less than 100 percent. This position requires work to be performed onsite, at a designated campus work location. This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years. Applicants interested in pursuing an academic career in the Musculoskeletal Imaging and Intervention Section will be considered for the titles listed: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Full Professor on either the Clinician Teacher (CT) or Clinical Health Sciences (CHS) Track. The title and track are determined by the experience and qualifications of the finalist. Clinical duties will be within the Musculoskeletal Imaging and Intervention Section and include work at the Clinical Science Center (CSC), East Madison Hospital, and the Science Drive Medical Center. Participation in the teaching, research, and administrative efforts of the Section and Department are expected. Teaching responsibilities will include lectures and conferences as well as daily training of residents, fellows, and medical students. Departmental teaching assignments include medical students, residents, and fellows, both in lecture format and on clinical assignments. Academic time will be provided according to department policy and as staffing allows. Requirements

  • WI medical license, or eligible is required by start date of position
  • Board certified, or board-eligible is required by American Board of Radiology (ABR) by start date of position
  • Completion of Musculoskeletal Imaging fellowship is required by start date of position
  • Completion of Diagnostic Radiology Residency program is required by start date of position
  • MD or DO, or equivalent is required by start date of position

Responsibilities

  • Clinical duties will be within the Musculoskeletal Imaging and Intervention Section and include work at the Clinical Science Center (CSC), East Madison Hospital, and the Science Drive Medical Center.
  • Duties will include interpretation of diagnostic studies, including radiographs, CT, MR, and MSK ultrasound; and image guided procedures including therapeutic injections, biopsies, aspirations, ablations, and spine procedures.
  • Advanced procedures are encouraged but not required. Training will be available for those procedures as needed.
  • Participation in the teaching, research, and administrative efforts of the Section and Department are expected.
  • Teaching responsibilities will include lectures and conferences as well as daily training of residents, fellows, and medical students.
  • Departmental teaching assignments include medical students, residents, and fellows, both in lecture format and on clinical assignments.
