About The Position

The Phlebotomist at East Cooper Women's Health is responsible for providing quality patient care under the direction of a physician or licensed healthcare provider in a clinical practice. Duties include rooming patients, taking vitals and health history, documenting in an electronic medical record, giving injections, and assisting with minor procedures. The role involves drawing and collecting blood samples from patients, verifying records, and preparing specimens for laboratory analysis. The phlebotomist may also conduct interviews, take vital signs, and draw and test blood samples to screen donors at a blood bank.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 6 months phlebotomy experience required
  • Ability to perform job functions while standing, walking, and sitting
  • Good finger dexterity and ability to perform repetitive motions
  • Ability to lift, lower, push, pull, and carry objects weighing 50 lbs unassisted
  • Maintain 20/40 vision corrected

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a clinical practice setting
  • Certification in phlebotomy
