About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Ophthalmic Technician to manage and oversee the daily operations in one of our clinics. The Ophthalmic Technician Lead will be responsible for supervising a team of ophthalmic technicians, ensuring the highest standard of patient care, and assisting in various diagnostic and clinical procedures. This role requires a blend of leadership skills, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of ophthalmology.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of specialized ophthalmic experience preferred.
  • JCAHPO certification as a COA or COT required.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Completion of a certified technician program.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced medical history and checks on patient's visual acuity.
  • Dilate patient's eyes and assist with office surgical procedures.
  • Perform basic slit-lamp exam, visual fields, color vision tests, lensometry, tonometry, keratometry, and refractometry.
  • Maintain complete and accurate information in the patient's medical record.
  • Prepare and maintain exam rooms to ensure they are adequately stocked with supplies and that all equipment and instruments are in proper working order.
  • Help with screening patient phone calls and assist with answering patient questions.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work.
