About The Position

Provide quality venipuncture or capillary services for patients including pediatric with lab orders, while practicing universal precautions in a timely and cost effective approach, as well as ensuring all lab tests ordered within the LIS in compliance with all Federal and State regulations while maintaining excellent customer service. Position covers all locations and requires flexibility to be assigned to and rotate to all sites.

Requirements

• High School Degree or Equivalent.
• 0-6 months of work experience.
• State licensure and/or professional certification requirement/s dependent on position.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality venipuncture or capillary service for patients of all ages with lab orders by a physician.
• Practice universal precautions while performing venipuncture.
• Perform venipuncture with a timely and cost-effective approach.
• Responsible for accurate data entry of patient demographic information and assays ordered into all computer applications.
• Responsible for proper processing and handling of specimens in accordance to the specific guidelines of MUSCP/MUSCP-PC or other reference laboratories.
