About The Position

MUSC Pediatric After Hours Clinic is looking for a PRN Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join its team of Advanced Practice Providers (APP) to provide primary health care and treatment of pediatric patients. This position is with After Hours Care, providing care to sick and injured children across our 3 urgent care clinics.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program or an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.
• Currently licensed or eligible for licensure as a Physician Assistant or APRN.
• Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
• Two years clinical experience required, with at least one year in a specialty area of care.
• Certification as a Nurse Practitioner specific to the area of employment required unless a new graduate.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care to patients through comprehensive history taking and physical examinations.
• Evaluates and treats patients based on history, physical examination, and diagnostic test results.
• Performs therapeutic procedures in accordance with procedural privileges and skill approved by the Supervising/Collaborating Physician.
• Initiates referrals to other health care providers and consults with the attending physician or collaborating physician.
• Documents and bills for direct care provided.
• Utilizes current research and evidence-based decision-making in clinical practice.
• Participates in quality/performance improvement activities and clinical research.
• Supports accreditation, compliance, and regulatory activities of the organization.
• Demonstrates responsibility for professional practice through active participation in professional organizations and continuing education.
• Potential to precept students at MUSC enrolled as an advanced practice provider student.
