About The Position

The Municipal Water Works Sales Representative will play a crucial role in the American Flow Control (AFC) Sales Division, focusing on driving business growth and enhancing market presence in the water, wastewater, and sewer markets. This position involves generating new leads and managing existing client relationships to support the sales of AFC Division products, contributing to the development of the nation's water infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year university or 3 years of municipal water works product experience.
  • Ability and willingness to live within the assigned territory.
  • Availability to travel a minimum of 60% of the time.
  • Ability to learn and interpret specifications for projects involving products.
  • Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and cultivate long-term relationships with key decision-makers at municipalities, engineering firms, contractors, distributors, and water authorities.
  • Promote and sell AFC Division products to water and sewer markets in the assigned territory.
  • Conduct promotional calls and develop specifications with water and sewer authorities and consulting engineering firms.
  • Provide expert consultation on specifications for hydrants, valves, and other products.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries, coordinate orders, expedite shipments, and address pricing concerns.
  • Travel within the assigned territory to build relationships and provide post-sale support.
