About The Position

Garver is seeking a Municipal Project Engineer to complement our staff and join our growing Transportation Team in Oklahoma City, OK to continue the tradition of providing reputable service to our clients. Responsibilities will include: Leading and assisting in the design and creation of construction documents on municipal transportation and drainage projects such as major thoroughfares, collectors, residential streets, and trails. Roadway design components including typical sections, geometric layouts, drainage and hydraulic analysis, erosion control plans, pedestrian mobility and safety features, maintenance of traffic plans, and storm water quality plans. Assignments will also involve tasks associated with leading or producing a set of construction documents including design, drafting, quantity computations, specifications, cost estimates, client coordination and meetings, and coordination with subconsultants.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • Have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
  • 2 to 5 years of related experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Have design software training

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Oklahoma or will have the ability to obtain reciprocity within six (6) months of hire
  • Experience in municipal design, specifically horizontal and vertical geometrics.
  • Roadway drainage design and storm sewer design experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Municipal or DOT roadway designs including the development of new transportation elements, ADA/Pedestrian elements, proposed roadway profiles, and cross sections
  • Working knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D.
