About The Position

Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for a Municipal/Civil Engineer I. This position will primarily consist of engineering studies and design efforts on a variety of municipal water/wastewater, drainage and general civil engineering projects for State, County, and Local Agencies. We are seeking qualified applicants for an entry-level position in our Orlando or West Palm Beach, FL office.

Requirements

  • 4-year B.S. degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum grade point average of 3.0.
  • E.I.T (Engineer in Training) License.
  • Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman service area (own transportation).
  • Ability to work in a team environment on a variety of projects.
  • Strong verbal, computer, organizational, and writing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Detailed design of potable water and wastewater pipelines, drainage systems, hydraulic studies, pumping stations, pavement, and local roadways.
  • Studies and design of wastewater system rehabilitation.
  • Traffic studies and design of roadway pavement condition and rehabilitation, widening, improvements, etc.
  • Hydraulic and hydrologic modeling designs for drainage basins, water quality improvement and stormwater collection systems.
  • Performing analyses using Geographic Information System (GIS) tools.
  • Preparing potable water, stormwater, roadway, and wastewater master planning reports.
  • Review and planning of water, stormwater, roadway, and wastewater infrastructure improvements, and understanding of sustainable design elements as they relate to water and energy conservation and efficiency.
  • Complete general civil engineering services for municipal, county and state clients.
  • Assist with construction engineering services for municipal, county and state clients.
  • Assist other project engineers and managers as needed during project delivery.
