About The Position

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Civil Design Engineer to join their Municipal Engineering Group in Bryan, Texas. This role involves providing engineering and consulting services to public clients, focusing on collaborative work and career growth opportunities within the Governmental Services team.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited university.
• 0-2+ years of experience designing roads, waterlines, sanitary sewer, and drainage facilities.
• Proficient in design with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Ability to calculate pipe capacity, drainage areas, vertical curves, and horizontal curves.
• Ability to produce construction-ready plans.
• Ability to review and interpret prepared survey drawings/data.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate preferred.
• Self-starter who can work independently and with team members.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of local city, county, and state land use processes and regulations.

Nice To Haves

• Bluebeam proficiency preferred.
• Proficiency in technical skills in stormwater management, hydraulics, hydrological analysis, grading, and other site development-related designs, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering calculations for water, sanitary, drainage, and road designs.
• Lead design tasks with other EITs, designers, and technicians.
• Work within AutoCAD Civil 3D to successfully complete projects within established budgets and deadlines.
• Produce submittal-ready package with plans, specifications, estimates, and applications to governmental and private entities.
• Conduct quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
• Produce exhibits with proposed design and existing infrastructure to present to clients.
• Prepare basic permit applications (City, TxDOT, TCEQ, UPRR, etc.).
• Assist project engineer in cost and schedule updates.
