Position Summary: This position inspects, and cuts specified quantities of product from racks and place the product on meat conveyors or directly into formed pockets of film on the packaging machines or in the tanks.

Requirements

  • 3 months of work history with the same employer
  • LOCATION IS NOT ACCEPTING REHIRES
  • The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be willing and able to push/pull/lift with arms below waist/at shoulder/above shoulder level minimum of 20 pounds frequently.
  • The Team Member will work in a fast-paced environment with rapid hand and eye coordination to move product on a conveyor and/or other processing equipment.
  • The Team Member will stand/walk/climb/bend for up to 10 hours.
  • The Team Member will use rapid mental/muscular coordination constantly.
  • The Team Member will use handheld machines.
  • The Team Member will work in wet conditions and cold temperatures at 35 degrees.

Nice To Haves

  • Machine Operator experience preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting preferred
  • RF Scanner experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Sort ends and pieces of #2 product, rework, or down-graded product.
  • Place meat in the pocket, be able to operate machine and replace film and zipper.
  • Use a handheld computer.
  • Use SAP to issue, correct, and backstage.
  • Inspect meat as it comes down the line and place it in packaging machine/pocket.
  • Set up, tear down and operate the multivac packaging machines, labelers, slicing, dicing equipment, and all other support equipment.
  • Operate a film lift and change rolls of film.
  • Complete two person lifts of up to 60-pounds on the zipper.
  • Learn all correct labeling and dating procedures.
  • Set up and change stock on labeling equipment.
  • Package all sliced and diced products.
  • Trim tar from product.
  • Process and stack product for random cuts.
  • Check leaker packages.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in the department.
  • Perform all roles of the department.
  • Observe all sanitation procedures.
  • Ability and willingness to perform basic math functions (i.e.: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
  • Ability and willingness to complete all paperwork and SAP functions.
  • Complete HACCP checks and documentation.
  • Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF requirements.
  • Perform all positions of job rotation as needed.
  • Perform any other work as assigned by management.
