North Alabama Medical Center serves as a regional facility with more than 200 physicians on staff who represent more than 42 specialty areas of medicine. How you’ll contribute A Multiskilled Technician (MST) who excels in this role:

Requirements

  • Requires Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment; rapid learning and navigation of multiple software systems; effective English communication (read/write/speak); ability to complete the Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire.
  • Requires High School Diploma or GED and BLS provider.
  • At least one year of work experience in a medical office or hospital setting
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of physician or nurse, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
  • Monitoring vital signs, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
  • Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, and eating.
  • Reports abnormal assessment findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
  • Assists with keeping patient rooms stocked, clean and orderly.
  • Performs clerical duties, aligned with nursing station activities.
