Indiana University Bloomington (IUB) is engaged in a multi-year initiative to increase the breadth and scope of its faculty in biomedical engineering. We are inviting applications for multiple tenure-track/tenured faculty positions in biomedical engineering at all ranks (assistant, associate, or full professor) to join Intelligent Systems Engineering, or other departments such as Computer Science, and Informatics within the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering. We welcome candidates specializing in experimental, translational, computational, and/or AI research, who are developing engineering systems, technologies, and platforms. We are particularly interested in candidates working in the following areas related to biomedical engineering, including (but not limited to): Imaging and Biomedical Devices, Human Centered Models and Systems, and Precision Medicine and Biomedical Data. Candidates should complement one or more of Indiana University's existing strengths as well as new initiatives in synthetic biology, chemical biology, biohealth informatics, robotics, nanoengineering & microelectronics, and toxicology. Candidates interested in entrepreneurial activity are encouraged. Successful applicants will be expected to engage in collaborative and transdisciplinary research and teaching. These are full-time 10-month appointments, with a preferred start date of August 1, 2026. For full consideration, apply by November 7th, 2025.   • Develop and maintain a well-recognized research program, including securing significant external research funding, leading cutting-edge research as a principal investigator, and collaborating effectively with other researchers.
  • Teaching and mentoring a dynamic student body at both undergraduate and graduate levels, focusing on expanding the educational opportunities available for Indiana University students.
  • Contribute actively to the department, school, and university through service roles, and engage professional communities and local community initiatives.
  • Candidates must possess a doctoral degree or equivalent in engineering, physics, biophysics, mathematics, biology, chemistry, biomedical science, medicine, computer science, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Candidates should demonstrate rank-appropriate achievements in research, teaching, and service.
  • Experience in interdisciplinary and collaborative research.
  • Interest in technology transfer and collaboration with industry partners.
