About The Position

The Multimodality Tech plays a critical role in the integration and operation of various medical imaging technologies to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. This position involves managing and maintaining equipment that combines multiple imaging modalities such as MRI, CT, PET, and ultrasound to provide comprehensive patient data. The role requires collaboration with radiologists, technologists, and healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality imaging results and patient safety. The Multimodality Tech is responsible for troubleshooting technical issues, optimizing imaging protocols, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Ultimately, this role contributes to improved patient outcomes by delivering precise and timely diagnostic imaging services.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a program of Radiologic Technology.
  • Certification and licensure as a Radiologic Technologist or equivalent as required by the state of Texas
  • Experience operating multiple imaging modalities such as CT, MRI, and ultrasound is desirable
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical imaging principles.
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and maintain patient confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Sciences or a related healthcare field.
  • Advanced certifications in multiple imaging modalities (e.g., MRI, CT, Ultrasound).
  • Experience with PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System)
  • Familiarity with emerging imaging technologies and multimodality fusion techniques.
  • Strong communication skills and experience working in multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for imaging procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the process.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to optimize imaging protocols and improve diagnostic accuracy.
  • Perform routine quality control tests and preventive maintenance on imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Document procedures, maintain accurate patient records, and comply with all regulatory and safety standards.
  • Provides procedures as directed by a physician.
  • Provides radiological, ultrasound, CT scanning and MRI (if applicable).
  • Establishes procedures to assure quality of services and timely reporting of results.
  • Provides care appropriate for the neonate and the pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patient status, to identify patient’s requirements relative to their age-specific needs and provides care needed as stipulated in departmental policy.
  • Establishes a system for the procurement, storage, control, and issue of radiologic supplies.
  • Keeps abreast of changes in technology and recommends equipment to be purchased or modifications of existing equipment.
  • Facilitates for the maintenance of equipment including preventive and periodic maintenance by notifying the appropriate department for repairs as needed.
  • Assists physicians with special procedures such as vascular, neurological, digital, utilizing specialized equipment (if applicable).
  • Assumes charge position as required in the absence of the director of the department.
  • Identifies problems and communicates to the director of the department, offers solutions as appropriate.
  • Practices sterile techniques and prevents cross-contamination to patients and instruments.
  • Prepares and positions patients for procedures, obtains scout films, and sets up trays.
  • Assists Department Director in supervising maintenance of equipment.
  • Participates in the teaching of patients and families.
  • Promotes good interpersonal relationships, acts as liaison between radiology and surgery departments.
  • Assists the Department Director in developing and organizing training programs in surgical C-arm and special procedures.
