The Multimodality CT/Rad Technologist, under general supervision of a radiologist, is responsible for safely and efficiently performing routine and specialized imaging studies and procedures in both the CT and Diagnostic Radiology modalities with a thorough understanding of advanced computerized tomography (CT), Interventional CT procedures, power injector, (DI) Radiography, and Fluoroscopy inclusive of R/F rooms and C arms, PACS Image Archival, and Electronic Medical Record. The Technologist will be assigned to either modality and/or can be expected to provide coverage support to both during the same shift. The Technologist will follow ALARA ionizing radiation safety methodologies to protect the patient, self, and others. Other responsibilities include a thorough understanding of department operations in order to assist non-technical staff by reviewing orders, processing paperwork, creating CD's, electronic image sharing with patients and other facilities, and expediting patient transportation. The role requires the ability to speak and read English at a level sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Internet, e-mail) are necessary. Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations are required upon employment or within the first two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job. The technologist performs other duties as assigned, follows Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards, and carries out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.
