Requirements

• Strong working knowledge of governmental, legal, and civic processes, and the ability to translate complex issues clearly for a broad audience.
• Excellent command of the English language, including strong grammar, spelling, and AP-style writing.
• Solid understanding of the principles, ethics, and standards of fair, accurate journalism, with a commitment to verification and transparency.
• College degree or equivalent military/work experience

Responsibilities

• Write, shoot, edit, and publish high-impact stories on digital and linear platforms - delivering clean, accurate scripts and strong visuals on deadline
• Generate and pitch smart, curious story ideas in daily editorial meetings
• Research, verify, and elevate reporting by digging into sources, documents, and data
• Develop enterprise angles and follow-ups that add context, accountability, and a solutions-focused perspective when appropriate
