Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Fluency in English with excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong on-air presence and ability to ad-lib as needed
Proficiency with newsroom technology, including video cameras, editing software and newsroom systems
Ability to work under deadlines, manage multiple assignments and adapt to a fast-paced environment
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed

Responsibilities

Report and produce compelling news stories for broadcast and digital platforms
Arrange and conduct interviews to provide in-depth coverage
Review, edit, and fact-check stories for accuracy, grammar and journalistic integrity
Research and analyze background information to enhance storytelling
Pitch relevant and engaging story ideas to news managers and producers
Cover a wide range of events, including politics, sports, community affairs and breaking news
Shoot and edit video content for on-air and digital distribution
Write and publish stories for the station website and social media platforms
Engage with viewers and users on social media to enhance audience interaction
Ensure all content meets company standards for quality and ethics
Perform special projects and other duties as assigned
