About The Position

The position involves originating and developing stories for broadcast and digital platforms, with responsibilities including researching and gathering content, writing clear and engaging stories, and ensuring visuals are relevant and impactful. Requirements

• A college degree in journalism, television, or communications or equivalent experience.
• Solid journalism background with 2 years' experience in a reporting role preferred.
• Demonstrable skills in shooting and editing video for television news.
• Some experience producing a local television newscast preferred.
• Valid New York State driver's license or ability to apply for one within 30 days of relocation.
• Knowledgeable of issues, newsmakers, and current events.
• Ability to handle various news reporting assignments.
• Familiar with contemporary news technologies for video acquisition and digital content management.
• Solid writing skills required.
• Ability to communicate with a variety of people in extreme circumstances.
• Ability to think quickly and respond to breaking news.
