About The Position

Virtual Peace of Mind (VPM) is a fast-growing, fully remote mental health practice dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to youth and families across multiple states. Virtual Peace of Mind is actively seeking Multilingual License-Eligible Thera pists to deliver short-term, school-based teletherapy to K–12 students across Virginia. Under a VDOE-endorsed initiative, this role is critical to ensuring that linguistically diverse students have equitable access to culturally and language-appropriate mental health care—regardless of insurance, immigration status, or fluency in English. This is an excellent opportunity for bilingual or multilingual clinicians who are passionate about youth mental health, comfortable providing care via secure virtual platforms, and committed to reducing barriers for English learners and immigrant communities in Virginia’s public schools. Clinical supervision is available for residents.

Requirements

  • License-eligible in Virginia as LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent
  • Residents must be approved for supervision toward licensure
  • Ability to deliver therapeutic services in both English and at least one additional language
  • Skilled in using interpreters, translated tools, and inclusive communication strategies
  • Strong documentation and remote work proficiency
  • Deep cultural sensitivity, humility, and commitment to equity in care access
  • Reliable communication and attendance are essential job responsibilities
  • A private, quiet workspace suitable for professional work
  • Reliable high-speed internet and ability to use required systems/tools
  • Comfort working independently while staying connected through remote collaboration

Nice To Haves

  • Fluency in Spanish, Arabic, Vietnamese, French, Mandarin, or other in-demand languages strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year providing clinical support to children and adolescents, preferably in school or telehealth settings
  • Experience working with immigrant, refugee, or English learner populations is strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and culturally grounded practices

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual teletherapy sessions in students’ preferred language when possible (Spanish, Arabic, Vietnamese, French, etc.)
  • Use culturally responsive, short-term interventions to support students experiencing emotional, behavioral, or academic-related stress
  • Address issues such as trauma, anxiety, adjustment, grief, bullying, identity, or family challenges
  • Ensure language equity in service delivery by using interpreters or translated materials when direct language matching is unavailable
  • Collaborate with school counselors, family resource managers, and administrators to support students with limited English proficiency
  • Participate in multilingual family outreach, offering psychoeducation and support in a culturally sensitive manner
  • Attend team meetings and consultations to ensure holistic care for linguistically diverse students
  • Communicate clearly with staff, families, and students using tools and strategies appropriate for multilingual engagement
  • Document all services in the EHR system, ensuring clarity for both English- and non-English-speaking caregivers and partners
  • Maintain timely, FERPA- and HIPAA-compliant notes, treatment plans, and discharge reports
  • Ensure services meet ethical and licensure board standards, including those related to language access and informed consent
  • Attend required onboarding, internal meetings, supervision sessions, and trainings (as applicable)
  • Notify the team as soon as possible regarding delays, absences, or scheduling conflicts
  • Maintain timely, professional communication during scheduled work hours
  • Uphold remote-work standards, including a private workspace and reliable internet connection
