About The Position

Multilingual Language Academy (MLA) High School ELD/Social Studies Teacher Teacher must be able to commit to all employment dates Effective Date of Employment: June 8 - 26, 2026 (no school June 19) Monday-Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. up to 17 hours of creating and planning ELD curriculum and instruction prior to Multilingual Language Academy 70 hours of instructional time (14 days) between June 8-26 Application Deadlines: June 18, 2026 � 4:00 p.m. Application Procedures: Internal and External Candidates: Apply on-line at www.district196.org Job Summary: Create curriculum and plan instruction focused on language learning through social studies for level 1 English learners Teach ELD and Social Studies standards aligned with curriculum of Independent School District 196 Collaborate with Cultural Family Advocates in order to support students and families Carry out responsibilities as defined by ELD Leadership team, administration, and site coordinator Maintain good communication and cooperation with students, staff and families Support, supervise, and advise MLA counselors

Requirements

• Licensed by the State of Minnesota to teach ESL
• Strong general academic background
• Ability to relate positively to students, staff and community
• Demonstrated planning and organizational skills

• Demonstrated experience and proficiency working with a culturally, ethnically, racially and socioeconomically diverse school community is preferred.
