About The Position

In this role, you will serve as one of two Associate Managers overseeing the Post DD 250 Trident II D5 missile processing effort, specifically the Vertical Missile Processing Building and Missile Service Unit operations. You will supervise a mixed exempt and non exempt workforce, handling production, staffing, training, and mentorship while ensuring that financial, safety, quality, and productivity targets are met in a zero defect, ethically driven environment. The position requires periodic odd shift work (approximately 20 % of the time) to support operational needs and may involve limited travel (less than 5 %). The ideal candidate is self managing, action oriented, and focused on building strong teams; you must be able to deliver tangible business results and establish trust and credibility with customers, senior leadership, and employees. Please note that this position does NOT support teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in Silverdale, WA, and will be expected to work in the office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college and significant experience in production, planning, engineering, or other related experience, or equivalent experience combined with education.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience overseeing personnel in a lead or supervisory role that aligns with Full Spectrum Leadership (FSL) imperatives.
  • Ability to screen into and maintain eligibility for the Navy’s Personnel Reliability Program (PRP).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance with an Interim Secret clearance obtained prior to start; U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisory experience with union employees operating under a Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • Experience with FBM missile/reentry processing operations
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers, leadership and employees
  • Experience facilitating Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and/or Continuous Improvement events, and/or Green Belt certification.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Current DoD Security clearance
  • Motivational fit
