About The Position

As a Multidisciplinary Technologist UC, you will perform diverse diagnostic imaging procedures across multiple modalities (X-ray, CT, MRI), producing high-quality images for accurate diagnosis. Your versatility is key to efficient operations. Every day you will expertly operate complex equipment, position patients for various examinations, and maintain records while ensuring patient comfort and safety. You will collaborate closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals for optimal imaging. To be successful, you need exceptional technical proficiency in multiple modalities, a comprehensive understanding of diverse anatomical structures, and excellent problem-solving skills. Your adaptability, prioritization, and meticulous attention to detail will be paramount for accurate and timely diagnostic results.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of Radiological Technology, which demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities, upon hire
  • Medical Radiographer: WA, upon hire
  • Medical Assistant Registration: WA, upon hire
  • Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Prepares equipment for imaging tests, based on physicians’ orders and in adherence to department safeguards and protocols to ensure quality results.
  • Verifies proper operation of equipment prior to use; sets imaging parameters for procedure; performs computer processing and displays images in accordance with internal protocols.
  • Utilizes equipment/accessories and employs techniques/procedures to ensure that results are consistent.
  • Selects appropriate protocols to tailor scans of each patient while producing superior image quality.
  • Ensures that sufficient supplies are on hand to perform procedures.
  • Cleans equipment after each use.
  • Assist with patient transport and transfer.
  • Prepares patient and performs Radiology procedures.
  • Receives and identifies patient; verifies preparation procedures are proper and in order; protects patients by following established policy and procedures; documents methods per department requirements.
  • Explains procedures to patients and responds to questions.
  • Regularly performs basic nursing functions in regard to patient care; responds to emergency situations consistent with scope of authority.
  • Comforts and protects the patient, self and others from unnecessary radiation.
  • Demonstrates competency in the delivery of care and clinical techniques within scope of practice: Basic CPR, Vital Signs, Visual acuity Electrocardiogram Wound care, including suture set-up. Orthopedic splinting Point of Care testing Assisting with eye and ear irrigation Blood glucose checks and throat swab specimen collection
  • Responds appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Maintains records and logs as required by department protocols and licensure requirements.
  • Assists in making observations, gathering data and identifying patient care needs.
  • Prepares cases for immediate interpretation; assembles patient's records; prepares previous cases for physician review.
  • Maintains daily records of exams.
  • Prepares hard copies from multi-format laser images; transfers images to magnetic tape for archival and storage.
  • Performs incidental general office duties to include; answering phone; scheduling; filing; maintaining patient records; ordering supplies.
  • Participates in the ordering and inventorying of equipment and supplies.
  • Assists with patient flow needs.
