About The Position

As a Multicraft Sr. Building Maintenance Technician at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliable operation of the company's facilities. This position supports the mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. You will be responsible for leading preventive and corrective maintenance activities across a wide range of building systems, including HVAC, RO water systems, electrical, plumbing, air compressors, and other mechanical equipment. Working within a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) environment, you will troubleshoot issues, coordinate with external vendors, and meticulously maintain documentation to ensure full regulatory compliance. The role also offers opportunities to contribute to facility improvements, mentor other team members, and drive operational excellence through effective problem-solving and solutions.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in facilities maintenance within regulated industrial environments.
  • Diploma with relevant experience is required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical equipment, and BMS.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for facility equipment and utility systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, and technical documentation.
  • Experience coordinating contractors and managing small projects.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Available for on-call rotation and emergency response.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in mechanical, electrical, or facilities engineering.
  • CFC/EPA Universal Certification.
  • Technical certifications in mechanical/electrical trades.
  • Current boiler operator license or ability to obtain within 1 year where required.
  • Knowledge of GMP, FDA regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Experience with building security and monitoring systems.
