About The Position

The Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician will perform a variety of semiskilled duties in the production area(s). This position will machine troubleshoot and service equipment and will require mechanical aptitude with some electrical background. Must be able to work on different mechanical systems using correct tools and PPE. Systems include pneumatic high-pressure compressed air distribution & hydraulic cylinders and pumps, conveyors and pulleys, shafts, rollers, belts, and chains.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
• 2 years of Electronics Technology or Industrial Technology experience in a related field required.
• Some technical coursework and ongoing continued education or certification.
• Must have the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analysis and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

• Six Sigma, Green or Black Belt certification or similar LEAN principles experience.
• Multiwall paper bag manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Strong computer skills including the ability to prepare spreadsheets and effectively utilize Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Works on different mechanical systems and understands lockout tagout procedures related to assigned production equipment.
• Works with supervisors and staff to troubleshoot equipment-related issues.
• Collaborate with the production department to minimize downtime through preventive maintenance plans and problem-solving machinery malfunctions and repairs.
• Completes necessary repairs timely.
• Confers with supervisors to coordinate activities required on the shop floor.
• Actively engage and participate in Company LEAN manufacturing training and audits, looking for continuous improvement opportunities.
• Acts as a champion of safety by modeling safe behavior and ensuring adherence to all safety regulations and procedures within the production area.
