About The Position
The Education Support Specialist position at Eastview Education Center is a part-time role dedicated to supporting students with multiple disabilities. This position is crucial in fostering an inclusive learning environment where students can thrive academically and socially. The specialist will work closely with students to assist them in various activities, including functional academics, classroom tasks, outdoor activities, and personal care routines such as toileting and diapering. The role requires a compassionate and patient individual who can effectively manage behaviors and provide the necessary support to help students achieve their individual goals. In this role, the Education Support Specialist will collaborate with certified staff, including special education and general education teachers, to create a supportive and engaging learning atmosphere. The specialist will be responsible for maintaining confidentiality regarding student information and will be expected to inspire and engage students in their learning journey. The position is structured for 29 hours per week, with a schedule of 6.5 hours from Monday to Thursday and 3 hours on Friday mornings. This role is essential in ensuring that students with disabilities receive the support they need to participate fully in their educational experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to the mission and beliefs of Monticello Public Schools and will actively contribute to the strategic plan of the district. This position is not only about providing support but also about establishing a culture of learning that inspires students to engage in relevant and meaningful educational experiences.
