A Multi Trades Worker performs entry-level to journey-level work in one or more building trades (such as plumbing, electrical, masonry/finisher, painting, roofing, and welding) and involve the maintenance, repair, alteration, and construction of fixtures, equipment, and facilities. The Hillsborough County Solid Waste Management Division is seeking a Multi-Trades Worker III to support operations at the Southeast County Landfill by performing skilled maintenance and repair work that ensures landfill facilities, infrastructure, and support systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently for the residents of Hillsborough County. The ideal candidate will have experience in two or more skilled trades such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, masonry, painting, or related trades, and the ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain buildings, equipment, and site infrastructure while working independently or as part of a team. The ideal candidate will be able to work outdoors in environments exposed to heat, sun, high humidity, rain, and other adverse weather conditions, and will possess the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, follow work orders and technical instructions, and operate County vehicles and handheld electronic devices. The position requires adherence to safety practices and OSHA standards and involves physical exertion, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials and equipment, with the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly. Valid Florida Driver’s License (Class E); CDL preferred if required for equipment operation.
