About The Position

Responsible for providing basic maintenance services to the Hanover Frozen operation. Opportunity to gain knowledge and develop skills to progress to Master Mechanic (after completion of required company administered tests). Assists in the repair, installation and maintenance of all plant equipment and buildings (frozen operation) with minimal supervision. Demonstrates consistent improvement in knowledge and skills as outlined in the criteria for advancement. Reports any equipment or building conditions requiring repair to the Maintenance Supervisor or Leadperson. Performs preventative maintenance as required. Completes all documentation as required by the Maintenance Supervisor or Lead. Position requires lifting and handling of heavy objects. Adheres to common safety practices and procedures including the wearing of protective equipment and clothing as required. Reports any safety issues to Supervisor immediately. Assists other mechanics in maintaining a high level of productivity in the frozen plant. Adheres to the Company’s plant hygiene standards to ensure high product integrity. Keeps work area clean in accordance with good housekeeping practices. Develops the ability to use the computerized maintenance management system to enter work requests and retrieve data on plant equipment. Must furnish your own tools as needed to perform the job. Requests all materials necessary for the completion of designated job assignments. Responsible for following food safety, legality and quality policies and procedures within the scope of the job responsibilities such as but not limited to: GMP’s, HACCP, safety, product quality, food security, plant security, etc. Performs other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Leadperson

Requirements

  • Previous experience working in the food processing industry
  • General knowledge of food processing principles
  • Good communication skills
