About The Position

The Multi-Skill Technician is responsible for the day-to-day operations within facilities & on the right of way. The Technician will have on call emergency responsibilities, with the rotating on call responsibility of weekend/after-hours call outs. The Technician may be required to provide relief to other Technicians in their work area. Shifts vary by location and are often ten or twelve hours in duration. Technician must be willing to work in the proximity of various hydrocarbon products, electrical circuits, and machinery. This position participates in alcohol and drug testing programs (i.e., DOT and/or Company). Technician will be required to completing maintenance/mechanical repair activities & oversight of contract crews completing work. This role covers areas from Hammond IN and all of the Illinois from Des Plaines to Patoka, IL.

  • Ability to operate hand tools, probe the pipeline and use of other equipment needed to accomplish assigned tasks
  • Working with forklift, snowplowing truck, ladder, lift, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a consistent safe work ethic
  • Knowledge of emergency response procedures
  • Must be willing and able to attend / complete required training courses
  • Must be willing and able to work in small team environments
  • Must be willing and able to work in various locations, both indoors and outdoors, in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures
  • Must be able to respond to emergency situations and callouts within 1 hour of notification
  • Able to use Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • General filing and data entry
  • Must have safe driving skills
  • Must possess a valid driver's license

  • Knowledge of emergency response procedures and DOT motor carrier regulations
  • Must have safe driving skills
  • Must possess a valid driver's license

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an incident free workplace by adhering to various Company safety programs
  • Utilize computer software to perform various data input, product tracking, reporting, and company communication
  • Perform Maintenance and mechanical repairs on Equipment/machinery
  • Plan and coordinate field activities and jobs to increase reliability and maximize efficiency
  • Collaborate with support teams to plan and execute maintenance activities to gain efficiency and to maximize reliability
  • Understand and use specialty tools for inspections on piping, equipment, and facilities.
  • Understand and use specialty tools to perform maintenance on piping, equipment, and facilities.
  • Assist in the construction, maintenance, and repairs of pipeline equipment and terminal facilities throughout operating area. This will include travel and overnight stays, duration can vary in regards to operational needs.
  • Work with internal experts and third-party vendors to enhance current work practices and processes with the maintenance teams
  • Permit and provide safety oversight of contractors as needed.
  • Perform to highest safety standards, including reporting all incidents and discrepancies.
  • Understand the scope of work for safety and production impacts
  • Read and understand station flow and pipeline alignment drawings
  • Maintain pipeline station operations including valve line-ups, starting/stopping pumps.

Benefits

  • The expected hourly rate for this position is $48.50-$52.72. Individual pay will be determined based on various factors, which may include skills, abilities, qualifications, work experience, and education.
