About The Position
The Multi-Purpose Clerk at Save Mart Companies plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of various departments within the store, including Center Store, Produce, Meat/Seafood, Bakery/Deli, and Janitorial. This position is designed for individuals who are adaptable and can handle multiple responsibilities across different areas of the store. The primary focus of the Multi-Purpose Clerk is to promote sales, provide excellent customer service, and maintain a clean and safe working environment. The Clerk is expected to engage with customers, answer their questions, and assist them with product requests, including special orders. In the Center Store/Front End, the Clerk will operate the checkstand, adhere to company policies, memorize PLU codes, and stay updated with new products. Responsibilities include ordering, receiving, unloading, stocking, and rotating products to ensure freshness and appeal. In the Produce department, the Clerk will inspect and log products, prepare produce for display, and maintain cleanliness in the area. The Meat/Seafood department requires the Clerk to weigh, package, and label products, provide customer service, and take special orders. In the Bakery/Deli, the Clerk will prepare and package baked goods and deli items, while also maintaining cleanliness. The Janitorial duties involve ensuring the store's cleanliness, including sweeping, mopping, and maintaining restrooms and other areas. Overall, the Multi-Purpose Clerk is essential in creating a positive shopping experience for customers while ensuring that all products are fresh and the store is clean and safe.
